The Abilene Police Department hosts an annual National Night Out event in early October (typically the first Tuesday) at the main police station located at 4565 South First Street. The free, family-friendly evening runs from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. to build positive bonds between local law enforcement, firefighters, and the community.
