VA Southern Nevada Telehealth service has established a partnership with the Mesquite Veterans Center in rural Mesquite, Nevada, to open an ATLAS site at the location. Accessing Telehealth through Local Area Stations allows Veterans who are geographically separated from the VA Medical Center to conduct visits with VA Video Connect at a location close to their residences. This was a major initiative in the partnership with the City of Mesquite and the Nevada Department of Veterans Services. Telehealth will host a ribbon-cutting event and resource fair at the Mesquite Veterans Center. Mike Kiefer, VASNHS Executive Director, will provide remarks. The local American Legion post operate the Veterans Center and plans to invite congressional staffers for members who are not candidates in this year’s election. They have also requested to invite the Mayor of Mesquite to the event. OCLA and IGA requests will be submitted separately.
