One-day Veterans stand down hosted by The Self Reliance Group out of Burlington, IA. The event focus is centered on the lived experiences of veterans & first responders across Southeast Iowa (Des Moines, Lee, Henry, & Louisa Counties). Veteran organizations and first responders are scheduled to speak on the panel and during the revolving presentation period. State & federal VA resources will be on hand to provide information on healthcare services, employment resources, burial benefits, and additional veteran benefits. Attendance is free for community members from any county in the state/region.
