During the Regional Summits and in greater numbers, the Women Veterans Enrollment Initiative aims to enroll women Veterans who are not currently affiliated with the VA, enabling them to access health care, benefits, pre-need eligibility, and other VA services that may meet their needs. This initiative is designed to foster trust, obtain information, and encourage women Veterans to choose the VA for their overarching needs. Outreach efforts will also extend to returning citizens and service members who are unfamiliar with the VA.
In each region, Women Veterans will be the “Boots on the Ground for Boots on the Ground” to assist in these outreach efforts by identifying and bringing other women Veterans—those who trust them but are not currently connected to the VA—to explore, begin to trust, and choose the VA. The Regional Summits will serve as safe and welcoming events for women Veterans to learn about the VA and the people that will support them motivating them towards transparency and trust.
To support these efforts, the initiative will have on the ground support from Veterans Health Administration, Veterans Benefits Administration, National Cemetery Administration, Veterans Experience Office and other program offices. The initiative will mobilize CWV Trailblazers, Regional Strategic Partners, Influencers, and Regional State Women Veteran Coordinators as additional “Boots on the Ground.”
