Summer VetFest Enrollment Fair

August 29, 2026

Salem, Virginia

10:00 AM - 2:00 PM Eastern Time

On Saturday, August 29, 2026, the Salem VA Health Care System will host a Summer VetFest Veteran Enrollment Fair from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Salem VA Medical Center. At the event, eligible Veterans will be able to enroll in VA Health Care on-the-spot — and receive an initial Primary Care appointment with a doctor that same day. Lab services, related to this appointment will be available for Veterans. Toxic Exposure Screenings (related to the PACT Act) will be offered to enrolled Veterans by Salem VA Health Care staff.

The Enrollment Fair will also have Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) personnel on site for Veterans to submit new claims and/or check on existing claims.

Additional services/programs/resources offered from Salem VA staff will include Suicide Prevention, the Homeless Veteran Care Team, Mental Health, Caregiver Support, Center for Development Civic Engagement (volunteering recruitment), Whole Health, and Women’s Health. This event will be a “one-stop-shop” connecting Veterans to VA Health Care and Salem VA programs and resources.
