Veteran Appreciation Day

The Butler VA Health Care System will host their 3rd Annual Veteran Appreciation Day on Saturday, May 30. All Veterans and servicemembers and their families and caregivers are invited to attend. There will be a special “Welcome Home” for Desert Storm Veterans and their families. In honor of America’s 250th birthday and 80th birthday of the Veterans Health Administration, attendees are encouraged to wear red, white, and blue attire. A large “Happy Birthday” poster will be available for everyone to sign.
Those attending the event will be able to enjoy the following:
• Door prize drawings for Veterans and service members
• Food (free items and purchased items from food vendors)
• Family friendly activities
• Fire truck exploration and fire safety
• Information on VA and community programs such as Benefits Travel, PACT Act, Caregiver Support, Women Veterans Program, Creative Arts, and Whole Health
• Car Cruise
• Speak with staff from the Veteran Benefits Administration (VBA) and National Cemetery Administration (NCA) regarding Veteran benefits
• Listen to the sounds of 97.7FM, The Rock
Eligible Veterans who are not currently enrolled in VA health care are invited to begin the enrollment process during the event. Those interested should bring a copy of their DD214. Additional eligibility information is available at https://www.va.gov/health-care/eligibility/ or by calling Butler VA’s enrollment team at 800-362-8262.
