The VA Capitol Health Care Network (VISN 5)Â was established in October 1995 and serves Veterans from economically and demographically diverse areas within Maryland, the District of Columbia, and West Virginia, plus portions of Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Kentucky.
The network includes eight VA medical centers in Beckley, Clarksburg, Huntington, and Martinsburg, West Virginia; Baltimore, Loch Raven; Perry Point, Maryland; and Washington, D.C. The VA Capital Health Care Network also includes 28 Community-Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) in the following location:

These clinics are health care facilities that enable the VA to make care more accessible in areas where many Veterans live or in remote areas where other health care services are unavailable.
There are also three Community Resource and Referral Centers located in Baltimore, Huntington, and Washington, DC; six Community Living Centers located at Perry Point, Loch Raven, Beckley, Clarksburg, Martinsburg and Washington VAMCs; and four domiciliaries located at Perry Point, Clarksburg, Huntington, and Martinsburg VAMCs.
