Veterans Benefits and Hiring Event March 11-12

Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the Detroit Regional Office co-hosted an in-person event titled the Southeast Michigan Economic Development Initiative (EDI), March 11-12, 2024. The event was to help Veterans, Service members, spouses, family members, caregivers and survivors learn about Veteran benefits, resources, local jobs, the claims process and/or to complete their claims and discover benefits for spouses. The event’s objective was to help promote positive economic outcomes and overall well-being for this community.

March 11 Schedule of Events

  • Opening Ceremonies and Town Hall: 9-10 a.m.
  • DOL Career Workshop: 10 a.m.-Noon.
  • Veteran Resources and Benefits Fair: 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
  • Hiring Fair: 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
  • Claims Clinic: 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
  • MDEO Mobile Medical Unit: 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
  • Mobile Vet Center: 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

March 12 Schedule of Events

  • Opening Ceremonies: 9-9:30 a.m.
  • Presentations: 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m.
  • Spouse and Caregiver Clinic: 2-3 p.m.
  • Claims Clinic: 9 a.m.-3 p.m.  
  • MDEO Mobile Medical Unit: 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
  • Mobile Vet Center: 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
