Economic Development Initiative (EDI) Initial Three-Day Event

Baltimore EDI was a three-day online conference that took place September 23rd – 25th, 2021 on Microsoft Teams. The goal of EDIs is to improve the total and economic well-being of Veterans, transitioning Service members, their families, and their communities.

The event featured:

  • Career Resources – September 24, 2021:
    • Employment Opportunities – Learn how to get connected to companies and organizations that are hiring in the local community. Gain information on special hiring authorities, education, licensing, and certifications.
    • Resume Writing Assistance – Receive help with writing your resume. Also, attend a presentation to learn more information about how to make your resume stand out.
    • Personal Support – Receive personalized counseling and support to help guide your career path and achieve your goals.
  • Claims Clinics – September 20 – 24, 2021*: View the Claims Clinic Flyer.
    • Same Day Processing – Economic Development Initiative (EDI) Claims Clinic appointments help with same-day processing of claims and appeals. Receive personalized support with a qualified claims specialist. 
    • Find Out The Status – Receive information regarding the current status of your claims and appeals.
    • Receive Help – We are here to help.  
    • VA encourages all Veterans to continue exploring the benefits they have earned. Learn how to file a VA disability claim.
  • Presentations – September 23 and 24, 2021: View the Presentations Flyer.
    • Presentations on Key Topics – The event showcased presentations that help with individual needs at any given time in the life cycle of returning to civilian life.  
    • Tools for the Transition – Presentation topics included information about select VA benefits and resources that help ease the transition from military to civilian life.
    • Specific Strategies – Presentations explained specific VA benefits, as well as new financial practices and strategies that optimize long-term success.
  • Stakeholder Roundtables – September 23, 2021: Public and private organizations come together to form sustainable partnerships that alleviate challenges in the Veteran community.
  • Transition Assistance Program for Military Spouses – September 25, 2021:
    • Develop a Plan – Learn how to define and explore career opportunities for Your Next Move by developing a job-hunting plan and exploring networking opportunities.
    • Learn Key Information – Explore advanced LinkedIn features, federal employment options, helpful career credentials with professional licensing, and more.
  • Townhall – September 23, 2021: The Townhall was a forum to hear from leadership and learn key initiatives that affect the military and Veteran communities. View the Townhall Flyer.
