The Department of Veterans Affairs and Virginia Tech will host a Financial Literacy Month Celebration on April 11, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. EDT
The in-person event is on April 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. EDT, at the Virginia Tech Innovation Campus. This event is offered at no cost to Veterans, transitioning service members, spouses, family members, caregivers, and survivors. It will include financially focused classes, a Veteran’s Financial Resource Fair, and a virtual Hiring Fair.
April Financial Literacy Month Celebration will give attendees access to hiring authorities and present important information on managing financial resources, improving credit ratings, and watching out for scams.
VA will also host virtual options for those not in the area, including four Financial Literacy classes and a Hiring Fair where attendees can network with top employers and learn about job opportunities in various industries.

- Career workshops to help with resumes and interview skills.
- Virtual hiring fair showcasing a variety of employers.
- Organizations providing financial services and benefits to Veterans, transitioning service members, their families, caregivers, and survivors.
Several public and private organizations will offer specialized workshops, including the Small Business Administration, Securities and Exchange Commission, the Federal Trade Commission, Freddie Mac, and many more.
VA provides benefits and services in a manner that honors Veterans’ service and dedication to our country and ensures they can utilize all the resources they have selflessly earned. VA fosters a culture of collaboration with Outreach, Transition and Economic Development (OTED), other agencies, and local communities to raise awareness of economic resources. The goal of the event is to support economic literacy and significantly improve Veterans’ and service members’ overall financial well-being.
Success stories from past VA events include more than 300 on-site job offers, distributing more than $385,000 in retroactive benefits, and providing one-on-one support through claims clinics for nearly 1,300 Veterans.
