The term “former Service member” is defined as a member of the U.S. Armed Forces who is separated, retired or discharged. The term “Veteran” means a person who served in the active military, naval, air or space service and who was discharged or released under conditions other than dishonorable as defined in 38 U.S.C. § 101(2).
